Mind – body connection…

A quick look at our home page reads: "Your goals. Your preferences. A healthcare team to help each patient live well".

Our team includes healthcare for both physical and mental health. Want some insight as to why we think it's so important to offer both at the same healthcare clinic?

This study looked at musculoskeletal (physical) pain as a predictor for depression. Conducted in Denmark, this study looked at a large sample of the general working population.

The results of the present study indicate that musculoskeletal pain is an important predictor of indicators of depression (redeemed prescriptions for antidepressants and psychiatric hospital treatment for depressive mood disorders). This finding was consistent in both objectively assessed and clinically diagnosed musculoskeletal disorders among sick-listed individuals, and self-rated symptoms of pain measured by a survey.

We may not know all the mechanisms behind the mind-body connection, but if you are experiencing mind or body symptoms (or both) we urge you to seek care.
