Lately I’ve noticed that this can be a very important issue. If you happen to feel neck stiffness, shoulder stiffness, or even arm stiffness in the middle of the night or in the morning, your pillow definitely matters. You should wake up feeling refreshed and not feeling stiff.
What should you do? Follow this general rule - use what’s comfortable! Simply put everyone’s body is different and there’s no perfect ideal posture when you sleep. Everyone has their own preferences and there’s no miracle pillow that works for everyone. The main thing is that you take the time to test out pillows so that you get the best sleep possible.
Things to look out for: make sure that your neck and shoulders are not in a crazy position. Try taking a picture of yourself when you’re on your pillow and look at your head/neck position. Compare with the pictures below to see how you compare.
